Lesson Policy
Professional Guitar
& Bass Instruction
Thank you for your interest in studying at the Music Place.
Following is an overview of our lesson policy.
Payment
Our lesson program is divided into six 8- week sections or
programs. The cost of lessons is $160.00 per program, or
$80.00 per month. Payment for lessons is due the first week
of the month. If you start lessons in the middle of a
program, a prorated payment will be given and then payments
will follow the above schedule.
Attendance
Students are expected to be at every scheduled lesson. If
you cannot attend your lesson, 24-hour notification is
appreciated. If you have to cancel your lesson, you can
schedule a make-up lesson. Makeup lesson dates are listed on
your student schedule and a sign-up sheet is located on your
instructor’s bulletin board. There are 2 allowed makeup
lessons per student per program.
Lesson Times
The lesson day and time that you sign up for becomes your
regular lesson time. If this time becomes inconvenient, or
no longer is available to you, let your instructor know and
they will try to accommodate you. A list of your instructors
schedule will be posted on their bulletin board with the
available openings.
Materials
Lesson books and practice materials are not covered in the
cost of lessons. Your instructor will advise you when it is
time for new materials and the cost, and will provide them
to the student. Necessary materials for all students are:
• Metronome
• Guitar Tuner
• Manuscript book(s)
• Lesson books.
• Pocket folder (for handouts)
Because of age differences and abilities, the type of lesson
book for each student will vary.
Performance/Recitals/Workshops
Recitals, performances, and workshops will be held
throughout the year. Students will be encouraged to
participate to gain further knowledge and develop their
skills. Some of the performances and workshops may require
an extra fee and material costs. Sign up sheets will be
posted on your instructor’s bulletin board in the waiting
area.
